Indeed, launching your business without a showroom is a bit more complicated.
Well, if we're going to do it, let's go all the way!
So, to begin with, having my little idea in mind, we're going to fill out a "Cerfa": yes, in France, we always start everything with a Cerfa 😬.
Once the permissions are granted, that's when the fun begins:
Phase 1 : Clearing the existing site: 15 years of vegetation, that's 2 days of work. 🥴
Phase 2 : Next, my neighbor (whom I thank once again for saving me two good days of sweat) helped me level the ground with his micro-tractor. 1 day's work 🚜
Phase 3 : Installation and connection of rainwater to the existing network. 1 day of work.
Phase 4 : A few bags of concrete and 1 roll of tarpaulin later: the blocks are ready to receive the beast. 1 day of work.

After everything dried, my precious thing is finally in place!

Phase 5 : A good blast with the pressure washer and it's like new... well, almost. 😅 Half a day's work
Phase 6 : Now, it's time for "home staging," as Valérie would say. 😉
We're going to close the box because working in the rain is only fun for about 5 minutes.

That took a day of work with my dad because those things weigh a ton!
phase 7:Â We have to face the facts: the floor is dead.

There aren't many options: dismantling, cleaning, and disposal at the recycling center; one more day of work.
Now, well, there's nothing left to do but...

Flooring done! And then God created Festool and its famous plunge saw 🤩 1 day's work
Â

Phase 8: Here I am back on my knees for the parquet flooring, a day of work with dismantling and cleaning the ceiling.
Phase 9: Electricity, drywall, plastering: five days of work. I love the dust ðŸ˜
And then... disaster struck! I turned on the gas heater to dry everything out (with the gorgeous weather we're having this March). Then I heard a "click"! I turned around and: 😱

That's perfect, I'd never changed my glazing before...thanks to Lionel (Menuiserie du val du gy) for your invaluable help.
Another day of unexpected work 😪
Phase 10: Painting , or rather repainting, the initial grey is turning blue: I'm seasick 🤢

Well, that's one good thing done. Let's go outside!

Phase 11: Painting, battening, insulation, and polycarbonate installation (2 days of work)

So we all agree: insulated bags are ugly! 🤡
But you can well imagine that this is going to be my favorite moment.
We move on to phase 12:

Installation of horticultural felt and irrigation (1 day's work)
Phase 13: Planting (2 days of work)

That looks great, pencil lead!! A little solar lighting on it and we're good to go!
Okay, that's not all; but now we need to fill in the inside a bit:
Phase 14: Operation to collect wood from every corner of the house to make interior furniture:

Between two repairs of my temperamental dishwasher. 😑

a small corner decoration

Four very busy days ! But it's still missing that little something...

Come on, one more day won't make a difference! Back counter decor: check!
Okay, that's all well and good, but with this lovely month of May just around the corner, it's getting hot behind the bay window! 🥵 The only solution: shade... let's go for phase 15 , which, for some reason, certainly won't be the last. 😩
"Operation Ascension" is certainly fitting on this Thursday and 1.5 extra working days .

There you go,... quite proud of the result.
A month and a half later... luckily there are several of us inside the little guy, otherwise... 😂
So there you have it, you now have an idea of the possibilities, so don't hesitate to share your projects with me. The crazier the better!
Now I'm off to the workshop because I have work to do to fill all the furniture in this magnificent showroom.
